Dear Corne,

 

My husband tore his Achilles tendon in a squash game earlier this year. 😣  Happy to say that he is recovering well, and that I almost have my life back...


He spent about 6 weeks wearing one of my BREG Genesis Walker Boots, with an Achilles Wedge for the first few weeks.

 

He also insisted on trying out a competitor's moonboot, so that he can compare them first hand. 😳😳

 

So, here is his unfiltered feedback:
1.
4th strap
 
"The Genesis boot has a fourth strap around the ankle, and it made my ankle feel very secure. I tightened this strap first to ensure the correct position of my heel in the boot.
The other boot didn't have this strap and I could feel my ankle move slightly up-and-down inside the boot while walking."
 
2.  
air-pump
 
"The Genesis boot's built-in air pump is easy to use, and inflates the bilateral bladders uniformly around the ankle with one air pump.
With the other boot I had to inflate the two bladders separately, and I found it difficult to achieve a uniform compression."
 
3.  
shock absorb
 
"I was hesitant at first to put my weight back on the injured side, but the Genesis boot really does a great job to absorb the shock when my heel strikes the ground. Walking was easy and more comfortable than I imagined. 
The other boot was ok, but I could feel the difference in quality with every step "
